These spooky witch’s finger pretzel rods are a quick and easy Halloween treat that looks impressively creepy. Made with just four ingredients, they combine salty pretzels, sweet white chocolate, and almond fingernails for a crowd-pleasing snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (12-16) pretzel rods
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 23 drops green gel food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Pour sliced almonds into a small bowl or shallow dish.
  2. Place white chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth (about 2 minutes total). If thick, stir in 1 teaspoon coconut oil.
  3. Add 2-3 drops green gel food coloring to the melted chocolate and stir until evenly colored.
  4. Hold a pretzel rod by one end and dip about two-thirds into the green chocolate. Let excess drip off, then place on the parchment paper. Repeat with all pretzels.
  5. While chocolate is still wet, press a sliced almond onto the tip of each pretzel with the pointed end facing outward to create a fingernail.
  6. Use a toothpick to gently draw 2-3 horizontal lines across the pretzel about an inch from the tip to create knuckle wrinkles.
  7. Let pretzels set at room temperature until chocolate is firm, about 30-60 minutes.

Notes

Work quickly after dipping pretzels to add almonds and knuckle wrinkles before chocolate sets. If chocolate thickens, reheat in microwave for 10 seconds. For best results, let set at room temperature rather than refrigerating to avoid chocolate bloom.
