A festive and refreshing margarita punch perfect for summer parties, combining tart lime, sweet berries, and bubbly fizz for a crowd-pleasing drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Β½ cups (360 ml) Tequila Blanco (recommend Herradura Blanco)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Triple Sec (Cointreau recommended)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Fresh lime juice (about 810 limes), strained
  • 2 cups (480 ml) Cranberry juice, unsweetened or lightly sweetened
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Blueberry syrup (homemade or store-bought)
  • 3 cups (720 ml) Sparkling water, chilled (plain or lime-flavored)
  • 1 cup (about 150 grams) Fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries), halved or whole
  • Ice cubes as needed for serving
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Agave syrup for extra sweetness

Instructions

  1. Prepare the blueberry syrup by simmering 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries with Β½ cup sugar and Β½ cup water over medium heat until thickened (about 10 minutes). Strain and cool completely.
  2. Squeeze about 8-10 fresh limes to get 1 cup of lime juice and strain out seeds.
  3. In a large punch bowl or pitcher, gently muddle half the fresh berries with the lime juice to release their juices.
  4. Add tequila, triple sec, cranberry juice, and blueberry syrup to the muddled berries and lime juice. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Pour in chilled sparkling water just before serving and stir gently to keep the fizz.
  6. Add the remaining fresh berries and plenty of ice cubes. Garnish with lime slices or mint sprigs if desired.
  7. Serve immediately in glasses rimmed with salt or sugar, reminding guests to stir gently.

Notes

Add sparkling water just before serving to preserve fizz. Muddle berries gently to avoid a murky punch. Prepare blueberry syrup a day ahead if desired. For non-alcoholic version, omit tequila and triple sec and add extra sparkling water with a splash of orange juice. Keep punch bowl chilled on ice for outdoor parties. Rim glasses with salt or sugar after tasting punch to avoid overpowering flavors.
