A simple, quick, and satisfying snack featuring creamy peanut butter spread on warm toasted bread, perfect for busy mornings or anytime hunger strikes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 slice bread (white, whole wheat, sourdough, or gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) creamy peanut butter
  • Optional: thin layer of butter or margarine
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon (5ml) honey or maple syrup
  • Optional: pinch of flaky sea salt or regular salt
  • Optional: chopped nuts or seeds (toasted peanuts, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds)
  • Optional: fresh fruit slices (banana, strawberries, apple)
  • Optional: sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes depending on toaster settings.
  2. While the bread is warm, optionally spread a thin layer of butter or margarine.
  3. Spread about 2 tablespoons (30g) of creamy peanut butter evenly over the toast.
  4. Optionally drizzle 1 teaspoon (5ml) of honey or maple syrup over the peanut butter.
  5. Optionally sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt or regular salt.
  6. Optionally add toppings such as sliced bananas, apples, strawberries, or chopped nuts/seeds.
  7. Serve immediately while warm for best taste and texture.

Notes

Warm the peanut butter slightly if stiff for easier spreading. Spread butter on warm toast before peanut butter to prevent tearing and sogginess. Use thick-sliced fresh bread for best results. Store toasted bread separately if preparing in advance and add peanut butter just before serving.
