A quick and easy charcuterie board featuring creamy brie, crisp apples, salty pretzels, and sweet dried cranberries. Perfect for fall gatherings, potlucks, or a fun family snack that comes together in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz wheel of brie (double-cream preferred)
  • 4 oz sharp cheddar, sliced thin (optional)
  • 2 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji), cored and sliced into thin wedges
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup red seedless grapes, washed and stemmed (optional)
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks or mini pretzels
  • 1 cup whole wheat or multi-grain crackers
  • 1/4 cup toasted pumpkin seeds (optional)
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp apple butter or fig jam (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs or fresh thyme (for garnish, optional)
  • Edible flowers or pomegranate arils (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Take the brie out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving to let it come to room temperature.
  2. Wash and slice the apples into thin wedges (about 1/4 inch thick). Toss with 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice to prevent browning. Let sit for 2 minutes, then drain off excess juice.
  3. Place the brie wheel in the center or slightly off-center of a large wooden cutting board or serving platter. Optionally, score the top in a crosshatch pattern and drizzle with a little honey.
  4. Arrange the apple slices in a fan pattern around one side of the brie. Scatter the dried cranberries in small clusters. If using grapes, place them in a small bowl or pile near the apples.
  5. Pile the pretzel sticks and crackers in separate sections on the board, leaving some space between the pretzels and the fruit.
  6. Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the brie and apple slices. Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs, and optional edible flowers or pomegranate arils.
  7. Let kids help arrange final touches if desired.
  8. Serve immediately. Place small spreaders and napkins nearby.

Notes

Let the brie come to room temperature for best texture. Slice apples just before serving to prevent browning. The board is best enjoyed within an hour of assembly. Leftovers can be stored separately: brie wrapped in wax paper in the fridge for up to 3 days, apple slices in an airtight container with lemon juice for up to 24 hours, and pretzels/crackers in a sealed bag at room temperature.
