A quick, easy, and budget-friendly fresh fruit salad perfect for summer. This vibrant and refreshing salad uses simple, common fruits with a light citrus dressing and optional mint for a healthy snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe but firm peaches, sliced
  • 2 green apples (Granny Smith), cored and diced
  • 2 bananas, sliced just before serving
  • 1 cup seedless grapes, halved
  • 2 oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, torn or finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry all fruits thoroughly.
  2. Slice peaches into thin wedges about 1/4-inch thick, handling gently if very ripe.
  3. Core and dice apples into bite-sized pieces about 1/2-inch cubes; toss immediately with half the lemon or lime juice to prevent browning.
  4. Halve the grapes.
  5. Peel and segment the oranges, removing pith and membranes.
  6. Slice bananas just before serving to avoid browning.
  7. Combine all fruits in a large mixing bowl.
  8. Drizzle remaining lemon or lime juice and optional honey or maple syrup over the fruit.
  9. Toss gently with a large spoon or salad tongs to evenly distribute flavors without crushing the fruit.
  10. Sprinkle fresh mint leaves on top.
  11. Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours.

Notes

Slice bananas just before serving to prevent browning. Toss apples immediately with lemon or lime juice to keep them fresh-looking. Fold fruit gently rather than stirring vigorously to avoid mushiness. Serve chilled for best flavor and texture. Optional honey or maple syrup can be omitted for lower sugar. Variations include adding berries, tropical fruits, or a splash of sparkling water.
