Creamy, fruity, and packed with protein, these overnight oats are the perfect grab-and-go breakfast for busy mornings. With fresh blueberries, protein powder, and a secret trick for smooth mixing, this recipe is proof that healthy breakfasts don’t have to be complicated or boring.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (50g) rolled oats (old-fashioned oats)
  • ½ cup (75g) fresh blueberries
  • 1 scoop (about 30g) protein powder (vanilla or unflavored)
  • ½ cup (120ml) unsweetened almond milk (or any milk)
  • ¼ cup (60g) Greek yogurt (plain, full-fat or nonfat)
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) honey or maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix the protein powder first. In a small bowl, combine 1 scoop (about 30g) of protein powder with 2 tablespoons of warm water. Stir until smooth and completely dissolved.
  2. Combine the wet ingredients. In your mason jar or container, add ½ cup (120ml) unsweetened almond milk, ¼ cup (60g) Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon (15ml) honey or maple syrup, and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir until the yogurt is fully incorporated and the mixture looks smooth.
  3. Add the dry ingredients. Pour in ½ cup (50g) rolled oats, 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until everything is combined.
  4. Fold in the protein mixture. Add the dissolved protein powder to the jar and stir vigorously for about 30 seconds, scraping the bottom and sides.
  5. Gently fold in the blueberries. Add ½ cup (75g) fresh blueberries and stir just a few times to distribute them. Don’t overmix.
  6. Seal and refrigerate. Put the lid on your jar and place it in the fridge for at least 6 hours, but overnight is best (8-12 hours).
  7. Serve the next morning. Take the jar out of the fridge, give it a quick stir, and add a splash of milk if it’s too thick. Top with extra fresh blueberries, a drizzle of honey, or a sprinkle of granola for crunch. Eat cold or microwave for 30-45 seconds if you prefer warm oats.

Notes

Mix protein powder with warm water first to prevent clumps. Use rolled oats, not quick oats, to avoid mushy texture. Add blueberries right before refrigerating for best color. Oats keep for up to 4 days in the fridge. For thicker oats, add extra chia seeds; for looser, add more milk.
