A quick and easy 5-ingredient appetizer combining sweet fig jam or fresh figs with salty prosciutto on crispy flatbread, perfect for parties and last-minute snacks.

Ingredients

  • Flatbread (store-bought naan, pita, or any thin flatbread)
  • Fresh figs or fig jam
  • Thinly sliced prosciutto
  • Cream cheese or goat cheese
  • Fresh arugula or microgreens (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the flatbread into 12 bite-sized pieces (squares or triangles).
  3. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese or goat cheese on each flatbread piece. Soften cheese first if needed.
  4. Add a dollop of fig jam or place a small slice of fresh fig on the cheese.
  5. Top each bite with a slice of prosciutto, tearing to fit if needed.
  6. Arrange the bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced evenly.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until flatbread is crisp and prosciutto is slightly crispy but not burnt.
  8. Remove from oven and garnish with fresh arugula or microgreens if using.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Do not add arugula before baking to avoid wilting; add it after baking for freshness. Use thin prosciutto slices for best crispness. If flatbread crisps too fast, lower oven temperature by 25°F and bake longer. Let bites rest for a minute after baking to meld flavors. For dairy-free, use dairy-free cream cheese alternatives. For gluten-free, use gluten-free flatbreads or crackers.
