Easy Classic PB&J Sandwich - featured image

A quick and comforting peanut butter and jelly sandwich recipe that comes together in under 5 minutes, perfect for snacks, school lunches, or casual picnics.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons jam or jelly (strawberry, grape, or raspberry)
  • 2 slices of sandwich bread (white, whole wheat, gluten-free, rye, or sourdough)
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon
  • Optional: drizzle of honey

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients: peanut butter, jam, bread, and any optional add-ons.
  2. Spread about 2 tablespoons of peanut butter evenly on one side of the first slice of bread.
  3. Spread about 2 tablespoons of jam or jelly on one side of the second slice of bread.
  4. Carefully place the peanut butter-coated slice on top of the jam-coated slice, peanut butter side down. Press gently but firmly.
  5. Use a serrated or sharp knife to slice the sandwich in half diagonally or down the middle.
  6. Serve immediately or wrap tightly in plastic wrap or an airtight container if packing for later.

Notes

Spread peanut butter first to prevent soggy bread. Use room temperature peanut butter for easier spreading. Press sandwich gently before cutting to help layers meld. Optional add-ins include cinnamon, honey, thinly sliced apples, or chia seeds. Toast bread for a warm, crunchy twist. Store wrapped tightly and consume within 2 days.
