A perfectly balanced salty-sweet Halloween snack mix featuring airy popcorn, crunchy pretzels, chewy candy corn, and adorable homemade white chocolate ghosts. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for cozy movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups air-popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels, or one large bag of plain, unsalted popcorn)
  • 1 1/2 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 1/2 cup candy corn
  • 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (preferably flaky sea salt)
  • 1 cup (about 6 oz) good quality white chocolate melting wafers or chopped white chocolate
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate melting wafers and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until completely smooth and melted (about 1 minute 30 seconds total). Let cool for 1 minute.
  2. Spoon melted white chocolate into a piping bag or zip-top bag. Snip off a tiny corner. On the prepared baking sheet, pipe small ghost shapes about 1.5 to 2 inches tall, slightly wider at the bottom. Pipe about 20-25 ghosts.
  3. While the chocolate is still wet, gently press two mini chocolate chips into each ghost for eyes and one for a mouth. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes until firm.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine popcorn and mini pretzels. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, cinnamon, and salt. Pour over popcorn mixture and gently toss with a spatula until evenly coated. Add candy corn and toss once more.
  5. Spread the popcorn mixture onto the same baking sheet (after removing set ghosts) or a second sheet in an even layer.
  6. Remove white chocolate ghosts from refrigerator. They should be firm and easy to peel off parchment. Gently break apart if connected. Scatter ghosts over popcorn mixture, mixing some in and leaving some on top.
  7. Let the mix sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl or divide into treat bags. Serve at room temperature.

Notes

For best results, keep ghosts separate from popcorn base until serving. Store popcorn base in airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days; store ghosts in refrigerator up to 1 week. If popcorn loses crunch, reheat on baking sheet at 300°F for 5 minutes and cool before adding ghosts.
