  • 1 medium lime – juiced fresh
  • 1 small red onion – finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño – seeded and finely diced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro – chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: finely chop the red onion and jalapeño (if using), and chop the cilantro. Set aside.
  2. Halve and pit the avocados, then scoop the flesh into a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Squeeze the juice from one medium lime directly over the avocado and toss gently to coat.
  4. Using a fork, gently mash the avocado to your desired chunkiness, leaving some larger chunks for texture.
  5. Add the finely chopped onion, jalapeño, and cilantro to the bowl and stir gently but thoroughly until evenly distributed. Taste and adjust seasoning with a pinch of salt if needed.
  6. Let the guacamole sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld. If not serving immediately, cover with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface and refrigerate.

Use fresh lime juice immediately to prevent browning. Mash gently with a fork to keep chunkiness. Press plastic wrap directly onto the guacamole surface when storing to minimize air exposure.
