A quick and elegant recipe for creating a beautiful chocolate-dipped strawberry bouquet, perfect for gifting on special occasions or casual celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450g) fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
  • 8 ounces (225g) dark chocolate (70% cacao recommended), chopped or in chips
  • 2 ounces (60g) white chocolate, melted for drizzling (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable or coconut oil
  • Wooden skewers or lollipop sticks
  • A handful of fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • A pinch of sea salt (optional)
  • Decorative wrapping paper or cellophane

Instructions

  1. Wash strawberries gently under cold water and pat completely dry with paper towels. Trim stems slightly if too long, leaving enough to hold or skewer.
  2. Set up a double boiler by placing a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Add chopped dark chocolate and 1 teaspoon of vegetable or coconut oil. Stir gently until smooth and glossy. Alternatively, melt chocolate in microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring frequently.
  3. Hold each strawberry by the stem or use tongs/fork, dip into melted chocolate, swirl to coat evenly, let excess drip off, then place on parchment paper-lined tray. Sprinkle sea salt on some berries immediately after dipping if desired.
  4. Melt white chocolate gently using double boiler or microwave. Drizzle melted white chocolate over dipped strawberries using a spoon or piping bag for an elegant look.
  5. Insert wooden skewers into the base of each strawberry if not holding by stems. Arrange dipped strawberries in a vase or foam block wrapped with decorative paper. Add fresh mint leaves between berries for color and freshness.
  6. Place the bouquet in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to allow chocolate to harden completely. Avoid stacking or crowding berries.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing. Melt chocolate slowly and gently to avoid graininess or burning. Adding a teaspoon of oil to melted chocolate gives a shiny finish. Work in a cool room to prevent melting mishaps. Store bouquet covered in fridge for up to 2 days; avoid freezing.
